What to Expect

A complete evaluation by a physical therapist of your posture, strength, flexibility, and tissue texture will be performed to assess where you have fascial restrictions that are causing your pain and/or dysfunction. The use of Myofascial Release allows us to look at each patient as a unique individual. Our one-on-one therapy sessions are hands-on treatments during which our therapists use a multitude of MFR techniques, movement therapy, and appropriate modalities. We promote independence through education in proper body mechanics, movement, and instruction in a home exercise program of myofascial elongation stretches and self-releases.

The worst that can happen after an MFR treatment is that the patient may be a little sore for a day or two afterward. This is completely normal as tissues that have been tight for a long time are now released and lengthened. As the tissue softens and becomes more pliable, the pain will dissipate and you will start to function better. It is important to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day to help to re-hydrate the system and flush out any toxins that may have been released during your treatment.
